Coping with changes in behaviour - Dementia Australia

  • Sunshine Hospital 176 Furlong Road St Albans VIC 3021 (map)

This program deals with some of the changes in behaviour caused by dementia as well as the possible triggers to these behaviours. We teach participants a problem-solving approach which helps carers to understand and better manage these changes.

  • How dementia in the brain impacts on a person’s behaviour

  • How to determine which behaviours to worry about and address

  • What factors may trigger a behaviour in a person with dementia

  • The problem-solving approach and how it can be applied to understand and better respond to the behaviour

  • Where to find ongoing support
